Film Title: Travel is Plus Plus
Director: Shyam Karki
Year: 2018
Duration: 5 minutes
Synopsis: “It is better to travel well than to arrive.” – Buddha
Curiosity is one of the most innate human traits, and travel is the urge to quench it. “Travel is Plus Plus” reminds us of this urge. In the film, visitors to Nepal share what travel means to them, echoing Buddha’s words, if less eloquently. True travel is not only good but plan-less. It’s the idea of putting oneself at the mercy of one’s own fears and subject to any possible mishaps from the external world. It’s a mindset that accepts a lack of control and, embracing that condition, trusts one’s ability to take it all in stride.
“Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves.” – Henry David Thoreau
